Moviegoers itching for a great love story will love Laura & Sal, a film which poses a timeless question of love: what do you do when the guy you've been 'waiting for' turns out to be the guy who took your purse?'

A romantic comedy set in present day New York City, Laura & Sal tells the story of Laura Sparagano, a lonely, struggling fashion student who works day and night to achieve her ultimate goal: graduate from school and establish her own fashion design company.

We meet Laura one fateful evening as she rushes from her unfulfilling and demeaning assistant's job at DV Designs in the Garment District to her design class at fashion school. Time is of the essence for Laura: not only is time ticking away for her to complete her degree in design, it is ticking away in her personal life as well - she has already turned 30. Smart, attractive, dedicated, focused, and loyal, Laura has big dreams and the abilities to make them come true.

Unfortunately, the road getting to her dreams has been lonely and had only one true supporter: her childhood best friend Theresa Avendando. Theresa - loud, brash, gum-snapping and loyal to the death - is normally at Laura's side no matter what, but her pending nuptials to fiancé Leo push Laura to the backburner. Alas, fate has another supporter awaiting Laura, one who will provide her with the inspiration she needs to achieve her dreams: enter Sal Riezz.

Sal is kind, gentle, smart… and the planet's worst purse-snatcher. The son of a hard-working widow, Sal's true nature is hidden behind the machinations of a manipulative friend, Nino, who has been using Sal for his own personal advantage. On the night Laura and Sal meet, Nino is directing Sal to grab Laura's purse. What ensues is nothing short of comical: Sal accidentally trips over himself, then accidentally trips Laura, and as the two literally collide, so do their worlds.

And thus begins the odyssey of Laura & Sal. Narrated by Theresa, we watch as the clock works against Laura at every turn: from her lack of designs to her parents' desperately wanting her married off, to her best friend's upcoming wedding and the appearance of an old, questionable boyfriend who offers her the possibility of marriage. We follow the voice of Theresa as she leads us, hard-core New York-style, into the heart of the Garment District, and ultimately into the heart of Laura's life as Laura works to make her dreams come true, please her parents, and help Theresa through her pending nuptials, all the while finding her way to true love.
